Beforeview

Editorial policy

How Beforeview sources, reviews, refreshes, and corrects the public-domain data behind every page.

Scope

Beforeview publishes factual utilities: lottery winning numbers, US federal and state tax data, BLS inflation, Census income, federal holidays, sales tax, overtime rules, rent affordability, and everyday calculators. We do not publish opinion, personal recommendations, or advice. Every page is a single-purpose answer backed by named primary sources.

Sourcing

We source from US federal agencies (IRS, BLS, Census, DOL, OPM, Treasury), state Departments of Revenue, and reference publications by the Tax Foundation. Each YMYL page lists its primary sources in the page footer and emits them in the page’s schema.org citation array. Lottery winning numbers come from the NY State Open Data feed (NY Lottery, official). Where a state agency lacks an open-data feed, we cite the most recent published rate document and date.

Review cadence

Each data area has its own refresh trigger and review cadence. Automated areas refresh on a daily or monthly job; annual areas are manually reviewed against the upstream release.

Reviewer

The editor of record is R. Bennett, Editor at Beforeview. R. Bennettis a pen name; the real maintainer’s identity is withheld, but the role is real and accountable: sourcing each page from named primary sources, checking computed figures against the upstream release, and publishing corrections. We do not claim professional credentials — Beforeview is a factual reference, not an advisory service, and we say so on every YMYL page.

Every YMYL page carries a visible “Reviewed by” line linking back to this policy, and emits a schema.org author and reviewedBy field pointing to R. Bennett. Where a figure is computed (take-home pay, inflation, affordability), the method is reproducible from the inputs and the cited source, so any reader can check it independently.

Corrections

If you find an error in our data or calculation, please email [email protected] with the page URL, the field, and the expected value. We respond within five business days and publish corrections in our public changelog. Source-of-truth disagreements (e.g., a state DOR rate change we missed) are typically corrected within one business day of confirmation.
